FINDING FASHION AND COLOR TRENDS

These are a few of my favorite free sources and tools for fashion and color trends that I use when looking for inspiration for my print designs.

1. Pantone Color Reports

Pantone’s trend forecasting and Fashion Color Trend Report is your guide to the season’s most important color trends.

They have Trend Reports by runway and season and they are also the color authority that predicts the color of the year, on which many retailers and brands base their product trends.

2. WGSN

WGSN is the authority on consumer and design trends, helping brands across the globe design and create on-trend products and experiences. For non-subscribers, their blog and newsletter are also good sources for fashion trends and some catwalks reports.

For small brands and entrepreneurs, they offer a more affordable plan called Start by WSGN a platform to help you Start, develop and manage your fashion business.

3. Fashion Magazines

Going to the grocery store and walking by the magazine section is always a great opportunity to glance at my favorite magazines and decide which ones are worth getting. Since my business focus is print and color, I try to get the ones that have a lot of related content.

I also use them to gather inspiration for my collections based on photos and articles.

4. Pinterest

And last but not least... is Pinterest, my favorite place to find visual inspiration. Since Pinterest works as a search engine, you have to be very specific with the description and add the season, so it shows you the current content.

I have boards organized by print style and many dresses from brands that I love.

Take a look at them here and repin to your boards so I can see your favorites too!
